Neijiang is an important traffic junction of southeast and southwest sichuan provinces and the second largest traffic hub in sichuan province after chengdu. Transportation is in all directions, except by air, railways, highways, inland rivers and pipelines. It is one of 179 national highway transportation hub cities in China.

In 2014, investment in transportation construction projects reached 5.339 billion yuan. A total of 1,536.7 km of roads were built to tongxiang and tongcun. We completed the construction of 15 rural passenger terminals, 14 rural ferry Bridges, 59.2 kilometers of national highway for highway security, and 635 yan meters /13 Bridges for dangerous and ill roads. At the end of 2014, the length of highway management and maintenance in neijiang reached 9,904 km (excluding 242 km of expressways), of which 6,362 km were graded highways.

Chengdu-chongqing expressway, neiyi expressway, longna expressway, chengzi-lu-chi expressway, neisui expressway, zilong expressway, neiweilong expressway, neiweirong expressway, neijiang-ring expressway (under construction), and neinan expressway (planning) constitute the large traffic network of neijiang expressway.

National highway G321 (guangcheng highway) (guangzhou -- chengdu), G247 (jingzhao highway) (jingtai -- zhaotong), G348 (wuda highway) (wuhan -- Dali) runs through neijiang.

The railway
Chengdu-chongqing railway, neiliu railway, luzhou-longlu railway and guilian railway have built the main artery of neijiang railway transportation.

The chengdu-chongqing high-speed railway under construction has set up three stations in neijiang: zizhong north railway station, neijiang north railway station and longchang north railway station. Lianyan railway is an important link between chengdu-kunming railway and chengdu-chongqing railway.

The planned intercity railway with internal adaptability will be connected to the nejiangbei station, and the position of nejiangbei railway hub will be further consolidated.
